Well-Built Longitudinal Joints
Joints are where pavements fail first. Our crews use proper overlap, tack, and compaction techniques to keep joints dense and watertight.
To deliver durable pavements and responsive maintenance that keep communities moving, using sound materials, disciplined construction practices and honest condition-based recommendations.
Who We Are
HÅLAB Entreprenad is a road maintenance and asphalt paving contractor serving public works departments, transportation agencies, developers and private property owners. We operate milling machines, pavers, material transfer vehicles, rollers, distributors and patching trucks, supported by an experienced crew of operators, screed hands and foremen. Our work includes mill and overlay, reconstruction, full-depth reclamation, crack sealing, chip seal, microsurfacing, patching and parking facility paving. Projects are built to agency specifications, with mix designs, temperature logs, density testing and quality control records maintained from plant to pavement.
A good road is the result of dozens of small decisions made correctly, and HÅLAB Entreprenad builds its reputation on getting those decisions right for and the region. We confirm subgrade and base conditions before paving, protect tack coat and longitudinal joints, time compaction to mat temperature and schedule work around weather and traffic. Because we also perform preventive maintenance, we see how pavements age and design our new work to avoid the failures we are called back to fix in other roads.

Compliance
Pothole repairs are cut square and tacked, not shovelled and left.
Lanes staged so traffic keeps moving while the work gets done
Track Record
Our Mission
To help road owners spend every maintenance dollar at the right time on the right treatment, so streets last longer and fewer need full reconstruction.
Sectors
Municipal, county and state agencies each run their own specification and testing regime.
Client Feedback
Their crew handled a tight neighborhood program with almost no complaints. Driveway tie-ins were clean, the surface was smooth and the paving schedule held. We reached the whole list of streets under budget.
They told us which roads needed crack sealing instead of an overlay and backed it up with condition data. The decision saved us money and the roads are holding up.
We needed a truck yard that would not rut in summer. Their section design and compaction were careful, and two summers later the pavement still looks new.
Send HÅLAB Entreprenad your street list and we will return condition-based treatment options, quantities and a realistic construction schedule.
Density, smoothness and longitudinal joints decide how long an asphalt surface lasts, so our crews control temperature, compaction and paving sequence from the first truck to the last roller pass.
Our Advantages
Joints are where pavements fail first. Our crews use proper overlap, tack, and compaction techniques to keep joints dense and watertight.
We recommend the least expensive treatment that will actually work, even when it means a smaller contract, and we explain why in writing.
Mix design approvals, delivery tickets, temperatures and test results are logged and delivered at closeout for audit and warranty needs.
Pavers, mills, rollers and trucks are ours, so schedules are not delayed by rental availability and equipment condition is known.
We monitor mat temperature and track density with nuclear or non-nuclear gauges and cores, because air voids and density determine how long an asphalt surface lasts.
Work is staged to limit closure length, protect school and business access and restore striping or temporary markings before traffic returns.
Density is tested on every lift and recorded, because an asphalt mat that looks right and finished a few points low will fail years before it should.
Longitudinal joints are the first thing to open on a resurfaced road, so joint construction is detailed, inspected and tested as its own quality item.
Lane staging, night windows and access for residents and businesses are planned with you before mobilization, because a closed road is a cost you pay too.
Our Services

Grading, base preparation, paving and striping for commercial lots, industrial yards, school campuses and driveways. We design the pavement section for expected traffic, set slopes for positive drainage and finish with accessible stalls and markings that meet local code.

Surface treatments for pavements in fair condition, including chip seal with polymer-modified emulsion, microsurfacing for urban streets and fog seal for oxidized surfaces. These treatments restore skid resistance, seal the surface and extend service life at a fraction of the cost of structural overlays.
Request a Quote
Routing and sealing of transverse, longitudinal and block cracks using hot-applied rubberized sealants, keeping water out of the pavement structure. Properly timed crack sealing is among the most cost-effective preservation treatments, slowing deterioration before moisture damages the base.
Request a Quote
Permanent patching using saw-cut, remove, tack and compact methods for lasting repairs, supplemented by spray injection and cold mix for rapid response. Work orders are logged by location and repair type, so recurring failures can be traced to drainage or base problems and corrected permanently.
Request a Quote
Permanent restoration of pavement over water, sewer, gas and communications trenches, including compacted backfill, base replacement, saw-cut edges and surface patching. Restoration is performed to agency standards to prevent settlement, trench failure and the premature breakup of adjacent pavement.
Request a Quote
Windshield and detailed distress surveys, deflection testing support and pavement management planning that rank streets by condition and treatment needs. We translate scores into multi-year work programs with realistic quantities, so agencies can defend budgets and see how a treatment mix affects network condition.

Cold milling of deteriorated asphalt to a specified depth and cross slope, followed by tack coat and a new hot mix surface course. Milling corrects rutting and surface distress, improves ride quality and maintains curb reveal and drainage. We control paver speed, mat temperature and roller patterns so the finished pavement meets density and smoothness requirements.
Request a Quote
Removal and replacement of failed pavement structure, or in-place full-depth reclamation using stabilizing agents such as cement or foamed asphalt. Reconstruction addresses base failures and poor subgrades that overlays cannot fix, including drainage correction, geotextile placement and aggregate base compaction verified with testing.

Pothole repairs are cut square and tacked, not shovelled and left.
Our Process
We evaluate surface distress, drainage, base condition and traffic loads, then recommend treatments and quantities by street segment, with an exclusions list and a clear schedule.
Utility structures are located, manhole and valve adjustments planned, drainage issues addressed and residents notified. Milling and base repairs are completed before new asphalt is placed.
Tack coat, paving and rolling follow a planned sequence with temperature checks and density testing. Joints, tie-ins and driveways are finished carefully to keep the surface smooth and watertight.
We restore markings, adjust castings, clean up and open lanes to traffic. Final reports include test data, quantities and photographs, plus recommendations for preservation timing.

Pavement condition data guides the work. We help agencies match crack sealing, surface treatments, mill and overlay or reconstruction to what each street actually needs and what the budget allows.
Projects & Case Studies

Heavy-duty pavement for a logistics yard, with stabilized subgrade, thick aggregate base and high-stability asphalt designed for truck turning movements. Drainage inlets and trench drains were set to pass inspection without rework.

Preservation program covering hundreds of lane miles of rural roads, with crack sealing in the spring and polymer-modified chip seal in the summer. Treated roads showed slower deterioration at the next condition survey.

Reclamation of a failing two-lane arterial using cement stabilization of the existing base, followed by a new asphalt surface. The approach reduced hauling and material import while delivering a stronger pavement structure.

Annual resurfacing of dozens of local streets, including milling, manhole and valve adjustment, driveway tie-ins and striping. Work was sequenced by neighborhood with advance notices, and every street was open to traffic by the end of each paving day.

Emergency utility cut and failure repairs can be crewed within a day.
Questions & Answers
For pavements in fair condition, yes. Sealing prevents moisture from weakening the base and slows crack growth, extending the life of the surface until a larger treatment is needed. It works best when done before cracks widen or ravel.
Surface cracking and rutting that stay within the asphalt layer often respond well to mill and overlay, while alligator cracking, pumping and base failures signal structural problems. We inspect and core where needed to determine the cause before recommending a fix.
Repeated potholes usually point to water entering the pavement, weak base material or poor patch construction. We prefer saw-cut, compacted patches, and we track locations so drainage or base repairs can be scheduled where temporary fills keep failing.
Traffic can usually return as soon as the mat cools to a safe temperature, often within a few hours. Heavy turning and parking loads in hot weather can mark a fresh surface, so we cone areas and advise on any short restrictions.
Testing depends on the contract and may include mix verification, mat temperature records, density measurements, thickness checks and smoothness. We keep delivery tickets and results organized, and we coordinate with agency inspectors or independent labs as required.
Hot mix asphalt needs warm, dry weather to achieve proper density, so most paving happens from spring through fall. Minimum air and surface temperatures depend on lift thickness and mix type, and we will not place material when conditions put quality at risk.

Mat cooling rates depend on air temperature, wind and lift thickness. A look at why quality asphalt work stops earlier in fall than many expect.

Pavement preservation is cheaper than reconstruction. We outline how crack seal, chip seal and thin overlays fit different condition scores and how timing affects results.

Poor joint density lets water in and shortens pavement life. We explain proven construction methods that keep joints tight and durable.

Condition surveys only help when they drive decisions. We show how agencies translate scores into work plans, budgets and clear communication with councils.
